Little Flower House Concert #15
Local Indianapolis group Midwest Rhythm Exchange played at the second house concert in the backyard space and it was quite a turnout. When more friends and neighbors caught word that the house concerts were happening again, everyone was excited to check it out! The group consists of Kevin Guthridge on guitar and lead vocals, Aaron Ransdell on Bass, Matt Koher on Fiddle, Kris Potts on Mandolin, and Johnny Plott on Banjo. They filled the outdoor stage and played two energetic sets. Midwest Rhythm Exchange played an excellent concert. There was even a John Hartford medley that was a favorite. The band had guests laughing, keeping rhythm along with their music, and even got a few folks dancing.
Here’s what bass player Aaron Ransdell had to say about his experience. “My experience performing at the Little Flower House concert was amazing. The event was well attended and promoted. Kati was a wonderful host and a good time was had by all. The backyard stage was perfect and the audience looked content and cozy in all their chairs. I would totally recommend performing or attending a Little Flower House concert without hesitation.”
There were some new things happening at this house concert too! The house concert series is now sponsored by two amazing organizations with important community initiatives. Thank you to the Little Flower Neighborhood Association and thank you to Carbon Neutral Indiana for your sponsorship. These community partners help keep us going. Representatives from both were at the concert to talk to guests and sell swag to those interested.
Also, house concerts used to have a pitch-in with snacks to share but with the pandemic it was opted not to continue that. Now, however, the house concert series has an official food provider! Small, local business Weiner Dreams, was there to feed everyone and will be at future house concerts too. It’s a hotdog cart with all kinds of choices including vegan options for guests to enjoy as they listen to the music or at intermission. This welcome addition is something the kids and the adults really enjoy while supporting local.
