Authentic One-Man Band

Little Flower House Concert #22

The December 2021 house concert featured solo artist from Chicago, Jaik Willis.

Jaik Willis is a one-man band. He plays an 11 piece drum set with his feet, while simultaneously playing guitar/bass, playing harmonica, singing and beatboxing. He does all of this to create a totally unique sound and fun, entertaining performance without using any looping or electronics. His original tunes are energetic and soulful. Jaik’s solo performance for Little Flower guests included folk to R&B, metal, jazz, classic rock, blues, acapella, beat-box and more.

Jaik’s voice is memorable and he has a special energy all his own. Jaik puts thoughtful intention into every aspect of his music and overall performance. Guests loved listening to him and he was great at answering all of their questions! You can also catch Jaik Willis playing with folk band, Chicago Farmer, all around the Midwest.

Here’s what Jaik had to say about his experience. “I played a Little Flower House Concert solo set when a band that hired me was touring through Indianapolis. I was set up at a corner so that a living room and dining room, each full of filled seats, could comfortably listen and watch. The audience was very attentive and interactive, pulling more stories out of me than I usually would share at a show and I played some songs I hadn’t attempted in years. Local businesses, recognizing the value of this series to the community, chipped in sponsorships like supplying a meal for guests, providing chairs, etc. Folks tipped generously and seemed to enjoy themselves and I had a good time of it. The organizer is a great music lover who curates well enough that people trust her taste and show up. It’s a good scene and you should get involved.”
