First Set, Harpist Melissa Gallant followed by Five Local/Regional Stand-Up Comedians

Little Flower House Concert #18

This was a very unique house concert with twist. It was the first ever Little Flower House Concert Series, Harp and Comedy Night! This dynamic made for a fun contrast with the performances that evening. And the guests enjoyed experiencing something different.

Melissa Gallant is a very talented local harpist who brought two of her harps to play for us. The orchestral harp was large and beautiful. The electric harp was smaller. Harp is an instrument many people haven’t seen up close or heard solo. Melissa did a great job explaining details about her instruments and music. She even used a loop machine to build entire songs live. As a musician and performer, Melissa really knows how to put on a show and get guests engaged. You could really tell that she loves sharing her music with others!

Here’s what Melissa Gallant had to say. “The Little Flower House Concert Series brings together appreciative audiences and performers in a delightful backyard setting! I enjoyed playing both my harps… it was rewarding to play for such a fun group of people!”

House concert guests had so many compliments and really enjoyed listening to the harp outside together.

After a short intermission, the concert continued with sets from five featured comedians.

The local and regional comedians who performed got all of the house concert guests laughing. Laughter was a great way for everyone to connect.

Indianapolis-based comedian John Molehill was the first to perform. He said, “I think the Little Flower House Concert Series is awesome! Everyone was nice there and respectful to the artists… Kati Taylor does an amazing job hosting and I definitely plan on returning.”

John’s performance was followed by another local comedian, Meghann Kennedy. She had a great and here’s what she said about the experience. “The Little Flower Concert Series is a special neighborhood treat… an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. A fantastic place to connect with neighbors.”

Comedian Jonathan Pfendler combined a musical element into his comedy by played guitar. His musical comedy is entertaining, conversational, clever and fun. And, Jonathan’s guitar skills are pretty good too! Here’s what he had to say. “Performing there was so much fun! Kati is such a great host! The crowd was very engaging, open, and warm. The intimate outdoor performance space makes one very comfortable while up there on stage. One of the most cool and unique performing experiences I’ve had. I highly recommend to anyone who gets a chance to go.”

Tabari McCoy, a comedian based in Cincinnati performed next. Tabari has a conversational style and discusses different aspects of life in a comedically relatable way. Here’s what he had to say, “A promoter who puts the performer and audience ahead of herself, Kati has created a wonderful little gem of an event that is equal parts intimate and entertaining to create an all-around enjoyable experience for everyone involved.”

Lucas Waterfill was the last comedians to perform that night. Thus far in the house concert series, he’s the only artist who has performed twice! His debut a the house concert series was back in August of 2019. He’s been an active supporter and has attended several concerts along with his friends. You can catch Lucas performing all around Indianapolis.

The Harp and Comedy Night was a fun and happy night. Guests and performers connected. Everyone left with a smile!
