The Clarinet Guy
Little Flower House Concert #5
The 5th Little Flower House Concert Series featured Eric Salazar—The Clarinet Guy. House concert guests enjoyed his solo clarinet performance and were amazed at all the sounds he creates through his musical art. Guests could really feel how much Eric loves playing music and sharing it with others.
Eric plays a variety of styles. His performance has a sound all its own. It was a great time for guests learn more about the clarinet and to see all of the things that can be done with one woodwind instrument. His creative, improvisational, and entertaining approach to playing the clarinet excited the audience. Watching him build a tune using a loop machine with so many different sounds made on one instrument was a treat!
Here’s what Eric Salazar had to say. “I loved performing at the Little Flower House Concert Series, because it has this wonderful atmosphere that is intimate and respectful. I felt that even though maybe my music, wasn’t the kind of music that the audience was used to hearing, they gave me a chance and they truly truly listened. And I just felt so valued performing there. And it’s really important for artists to have a safe space where they can go to experiment with new performance ideas. And it means a lot to me to look out into the audience and see people who are just as curious about experiencing new things as I am about creating new things.”
