Little Flower House Concert #25

The March 2022 house concert featured Indianapolis local Kristen.

You can catch Kristen the indie-alternative/rock band fronted by singer-songwriter Kristen Bales throughout the city but her solo performance is a special treat. She writes all of the music for her band and Little Flower House Concert guests got the pleasure of hearing many of those tunes solo.

Kristen played a variety of tunes for our guests at this very intimate house concert. This was one of the “quieter” house concerts and it was partly because everyone was mesmerized with her beautiful voice! Kristen even said a few songs into her performance, “It’s so quiet, wow! …I’m happy that I get such a quiet place to sing quietly. I don’t get to sing quietly a lot. Normally I’m real loud. This is so nice.”

It was such a treat to listen to Kristen speak about different points throughout history and how she had learned and grown in her musical career. She played one of the first songs she had ever written when she was only 16 years old called “Tongue Tied” and she also one of her newer songs, “Therapy” (which is normally performed with a full band). It was memorable to be able to hear this solo and everyone appreciated Kristen’s description of the stories behind her songs. Getting that detail and being able to ask the artist questions is part of what makes house concerts so special!

A full house of music-loving folks gathered to enjoy Kristen’s beautiful voice and she shared an amazing performance with Little Flower House Concert Series guests.
