You feel so welcomed…
“I started attending The Little Flower house concerts last summer (2021) and have been hooked since. Kati hosts these concerts in her home and makes you feel so welcomed… think long lost friend. The crowd and vibe of each event is unique with the a wide variety of artists. I have attended with my parents, with friends, and just me and my kids. The house concert is absolutely kid friendly. In fact, my daughter loves attending and can typically be found dancing to the beat of the music in front of the bubble machine, sitting front row, or grooving with a hula hoop!!! When she sees a notification from the Little Flower House Concert Series, she lets me know we have plans, lol!! Check them out it’s a guaranteed good time.”
~Amanda Brown, Attendee

Where friends meet and strangers become friends…
“My name is Smitty and I own/operate the hot dog cart that’s offered Weiners, good times and giggles all summer at The Little Flower House Concert series. We’ve seen everything from Bluegrass to Comedy to mix master singer songwriters and even the BEST harpist set ever! These shows have brought an incredibly diverse and talented artist performer group to an intimate setting where friends meet and strangers become friends. Kati Taylor brings these experiences to us out of the goodness of her huge heart because of her sincere love of the performances, but more for the community of it all. Kati is truly inspirational in her commitment to provide this for us all safely and comfortably. Thank you Kati!”

I was made to feel welcome and comfortable…
“I went to my first Little Flower House Concert to see a musician, Joe Macheret, that I was already familiar with. I have been to other house concerts, but never at the Little Flower House and so was a tad bit nervous. However, within minutes I was made to feel welcome and comfortable by the host, Kati Taylor, and by the other guests who had obviously been to shows there before. Kati thought of every detail that goes into hosting an event like this. From the seating, to the lighting, to the sound, to the stage, the music had the perfect backdrop. I love a place that shows such respect to the acts on the stage. No one told the crowd to be quiet and just listen. Everyone just did it. Little Flower House cultivates that kind of experience that can be rare to find.”
~Lori Tussey, Attendee

Leaves a lasting impression…
“As a jazz musician, I’ve been playing in and around the Indianapolis area for a little over 20 years. I think that there are moments in an artist’s career when they wonder why it is, they do what they do. What I liked about playing for Little Flower House Concert Series was the reminder that not all performances are ancillary or on the periphery of one’s experiences… There are chances that come along every now and then where you can actually reach out to someone else. You can actually leave a lasting impression. For me, that’s what you work towards. Those times when the stars align and you have a chance to really leave something behind.”
~ Steven Jones, Musician
Urban living at its finest…

Unique and unforgettable experience…
“A welcoming space that creates a unique and unforgettable experience. The first time in already feels like coming home. The kind of event that instantly makes you feel connected to friends you haven’t met yet. Kati has a gift for making the space, the purpose, and the people all harmonize. Hearts automatically fall into the right place and it is a beautiful thing. We need more of this.”
~ Michael Kelsey, Musician
Respecting the talent and each other…
“The caliber of talent at these intimate shows is unmatched and truly impressive. The outdoor stage and backyard setting is lovely and provides a warm welcoming atmosphere. The venue itself is special, a cozy, welcoming environment, where everyone is allowed to be themselves with no judgment. Each show I’ve attended has been meticulously planned. The host, Kati, ensures each event is ready for guests and talent. She thinks of everything from hand-sanitizer, chairs, signs, and even a food vendor. The guests are absolutely lovely and are there to hear the music. It is a listening crowd. They are a diverse audience from babies to eighties, with everyone respecting the talent and each other by giving full attention to the performance. Shows are all ages and children have chalk, bubbles, balls, hula hoops, and more available. Everyone is welcome to bring their own beverages but I’ve never seen anyone over-indulge. If you are lucky enough to get an invitation to an event, do yourself a favor and go!”
~ Karen Steuerwald, Attendee

“The true house concert experience: whether it’s in Kati’s backyard or living room, she makes it feel like home for everyone. It’s a great setting to see musicians play up close while still keeping a relaxed atmosphere. I appreciate how hard she works to get great artists there, too, it was a treat seeing Rob Dixon and Triology and then more recently, Michael Kelsey. An attentive, appreciative audience…
“I’ve seen some really great Little Flower House Concert performances, and I had an amazing time playing my show there. I love that the intent is to have an attentive, appreciative audience focused on really taking in what the performers have to offer. It’s a very warm, welcoming, open environment, and it was the perfect setting for me to get to try out a couple of the weirder ideas that I had been tossing around in my head for a while… just waiting for the right opportunity to work them into a show. I really appreciated getting to play for the concert series and it’s still one of my favorite and most fun shows I’ve ever played!”
~ Mark Dippel, Musician and Attendee
Met neighbors and made new friends…
“The Little Flower Concert Series was a godsend during the pandemic live music abyss. Safe, fun, outdoor LIVE music and some comedy. I met neighbors and made new friends. I loved hearing seasoned and new performers. Kati’s backyard is a comfortable intimate venue and the new stage is perfect. I really enjoyed hearing Melissa Gallant’s harp concert, and Michael Kelsey’s improv guitar show. I’m a post-pandemic fan now.”
~ Kay Niedenthal, Attendee
An appreciative audience…
“I loved performing at the Little Flower House Concert Series. Kati was very welcoming to us when we played and it was just an awesome experience to get to interact with members of her community and those from the greater Indianapolis area… and a very intimate environment. There were snacks and drinks provided and it was just really good time. It was very awesome to perform for an appreciative audience and I look forward to the next one. ”
~Richard ‘Sleepy’ Floyd, Musician
The music is so personal…

~ Brandon Meeks, Musician
Love the intimate nature…
“It had been so long since my last house concert as a performer or as an attendee. Tickled to be invited to perform at Kati’s and knowing her made it easier. Plenty of room and comfy all around. In spite of the kind of last minute move indoors, all was well thought out and we had a lot of fun. I do love the intimate nature and look forward to another opportunity to do so again. Having a food cart was a great addition.”
~Jon Martin, Musician
I just felt so valued…
“I loved performing at the Little Flower House Concert Series, because it has this wonderful atmosphere that is intimate and respectful. I felt that even though maybe my music, wasn’t the kind of music that the audience was used to hearing, they gave me a chance and they truly truly listened. And I just felt so valued performing there. And it’s really important for artists to have a safe space where they can go to experiment with new performance ideas. And it means a lot to me to look out into the audience and see people who are just as curious about experiencing new things as I am about creating new things.”
~ Eric Salazar, Musician
The series is awesome…
“I had a fantastic time playing the Little Flower House Concert Series produced by Kati Taylor. The series is awesome. She’s awesome. And we can’t wait until we do it again.”
~ Rob Dixon, Musician
A magical, musical experience…
“Kati has done such a wonderful job turning her home/back yard into a magical, musical experience. She had a vision and realized it. I am so impressed with everything she has done to make her house concert experience so memorable. She is very inviting to everyone and has expanded the experience to include food, neighborhood organizations and even wider. She has a variety of musical acts and is always so welcoming. I am just so impressed with everything she has done, also her free music library she designed and made happen!!! Kati is such an ambassador for good music.”
~ John Taylor, Attendee
One of the best…
“The Little Flower House Concerts are full of warmth. The outdoor area is gorgeous with shade and a beautiful fenced backyard area. The drinks are cold and the food vendors are reasonable. The indoor events are much more intimate, encouraging a quieter, listening experience. But the energy that builds and erupts in the space between songs is such a treat both for the artists and the audience. I have only had good experiences here and met quality people. This is one of the best house concerts I’ve had the pleasure of visiting in Indianapolis, I hope to continue to visit.”
~ Josh Wilson, Attendee

“As a singer songwriter, having an intimate audience that I could really project the music from my piano and the lyrics to was great. And I really felt connected with everyone involved. And so for me it was a great experience and really well received.”
~ Kristina Sharpe, Musician
Welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing…

~ Gary Degler, Attendee
Unique performing experience…
“Performing there was so much fun! Kati is such a great host! The crowd was very engaging, open, and warm. The intimate outdoor performance space makes one very comfortable while up there on stage. One of the most cool and unique performing experiences I’ve had. I highly recommend to anyone who gets a chance to go.”
~ Jonathan Pfendler, Comedian
Great musicians…
“Kati consistently books great musicians that are not only very talented but connect with the audience nicely. The folks in attendance are very friendly and engaging and it’s easy to meet new people and have great conversations between sets. Kati has configured her back yard into a very appealing, intimate performance space that is near perfection in size and layout. Lastly, there’s usually an excellent food vendor on site to satisfy your hunger, which is especially important if you happen to be coming directly from work. Kudos, Kati on a job well done!”
~ John Niehaus, Attendee
A special treasure…
“Kati is providing such a special treasure for the Little Flower community and the Indianapolis music scene. In general, I loved playing in Kati’s neat house… but I also appreciated connecting with people, who felt like my neighbors, over local music.”
~ Lyndsey Fury, Musician
A great experience…
“I played duet with Charlie Ballantine as the opening show for the Little Flower House Concert Series and I really had a good time. I think that this house concert is a great experience for both the artists and the audience. We were able to play whatever we wanted to a very small and attentive audience. I enjoyed being able to play my bass acoustically without any amplification. And I think everyone enjoyed hearing the music making so up close. It was great to see so many of the music lovers of this city that I usually see in clubs and bars in such a comfortable and intimate environment. I can’t wait to play this house concert again, and I want to thank the Little Flower House Concert Series and especially Kati for all that she does for the Indianapolis music scene.”
~ Jesse Wittman, Musician

“My favorite part about the Little Flower House Concert, was definitely just having a captive audience that was completely focused on our music. We even got them to sing a chorus with us and having them all participate was just a really special experience!”
~ Nathan Thompson, Musician
It was rewarding to play…
“The Little Flower House Concert Series brings together appreciative audiences and performers in a delightful backyard setting! I enjoyed playing both my harps at a Little Flower House Concert in August 2021. It was rewarding to play for such a fun group of people!”
~ Melissa Gallant, Musician
Intimate and welcoming…
“The Little Flower Concert Series is a special neighborhood treat. You can see performers of all different kinds—from jazz to comedy—share their talents in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. A fantastic place to appreciate some art, drink a cold one, and connect with neighbors.”
~ Meghann Kennedy, Comedian
constantly innovating the experience…
“I have attended several shows at the Little Flower House concerts, most recently The Auburns. The place is cozy, friendly, and Kati the host is superb. She is constantly innovating the experience, like having a food cart and an outdoor stage, weather permitting. The artists that are booked there are unique, and the space gives everyone a good view.”
~Phil Slates, Attendee
Memorable music and times. ..
My wife, Carol and I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Folk-Americana duo My Politic at Kati Taylor’s fabulous Little Flower House Concert. These guys soak you with glorious blood harmonies thru the songs of Kaston Guffey and Nicholas Pankey. Lots of aching tales of downtrodden characters that were spiced up with whip crackin’ topical songs that were razor sharp and funny (too bad the topics were so sad and true). I had the opportunity to talk to both Kaston and Nick and I really appreciate the time they took. Great guys. There is a sea of acts out there making this kind of music, but most don’t come close to the genuineness and spot on talent they possess. We met some cool people and had a freakin’ awesome time. Three cheers to Kati for opening up her yard and house for memorable music and times. The world needs more generous people like her.”
